This includes improving behaviour on the pitch and recruiting more referees. Alongside this, Geoff is keen to improve communications with all those involved in the game through the county office and Cornwall FA’s Council. He intends to carry forward recent discussions on plans for moving Cornwall FA’s headquarters to new premises.
Geoff said, “All this is already existing policy which has been discussed with the Board of Directors and I’m looking forward to working more closely with our County Secretary, Barry Cudmore, and all the staff and Council members. It is a great honour to be Chairman of the County Football Association which has been in existence for nearly 120 years. “
Geoff played football for Penzance, Bodmin, Truro, Saltash and St Blazey as well as for Cornwall in the 1970s. He went on to manage the county’s youth team. During his career as a teacher in Callington, he was a representative of Cornwall and the English Schools FA. .
His involvement with Cornwall FA began again in 2002 when he was the co-opted member for schools on the County FA’s Council.
Geoff was appointed as the FA Representative from Cornwall in 2005. In this capacity, he currently serves on the Vase Committee, the Women’s Committee, the Football Development Committee and on the Girls’ Centres of Excellence sub committee.
