Football Gives Reading A Boost

St Breock Primary School in Wadebridge is the only school in Cornwall to be taking part in a new literacy project linked with professional football clubs.

The scheme called Playing With Words aims to encourage young people aged from 7 to 13 to read more. The children from St Breock are teamed up with Plymouth Argyle.

Each club partners three local schools that run a reading club every term with a new class. As St Breock were keen to get involved, Plymouth Argyle, with the support of the Football Foundation, agreed that they could be an exception to the rule, making them the only school in Cornwall taking part.
