The 2nd Using Social Media Workshop
Those Club Welfare Officers and their Assistants who were unable to attend the first Using Social Media event, held in July, are invited to attend the second one.
It is designed to be an informative evening primarily focusing on The FA’s recently issued Best Practice Guidelines for Social Media (Twitter, Facebook and so on). Cornwall FA's Welfare Officer Mandy Kimmins will host the evening which is part of The FA’s commitment to providing continuing professional development for qualified Club Welfare Officers. The session will be free of charge and certificated.
Areas Covered are:
1. Awareness of Social Media
2. FA CRB Update including Online Application Service - reducing cost
3. Drug Signposting
4. Online Safeguarding Service Update
5. Short overview of FA CRB Panel and Safeguarding Review Panels.

Safeguarding Children Course
This 3 hour workshop highlights the issues with children in football and makes participants aware of the best practices recommended to deal with them. Club Welfare Officer Workshop
All leagues and clubs with youth teams must have a named Welfare Officer, who has an 'accepted' CRB check through The FA CRB Unit and who has completed The FA Safeguarding Children and Welfare Officer workshops.
Once in place, Cornwall FA provides full training and offers ongoing guidance, advice and sharing of best practice.
We can offer places on available Safeguarding Children Courses to volunteers in your club who may wish to become a 2nd or Assistant Club Welfare Officer. The latest course is on Wednesday 21st September 2011.

If you lose your Safeguarding or Welfare Officer workshop certificates you can order a replacement from FA Learning on 0845 2108080. Please be aware there is a charge for this service.
