Unfortunately due to a waterlogged pitch, the fixture at Okehampton this Saturday 27th March 2010 v Bristol has been postponed. There will be training sessions instead at Truro College. The sessions will be 9am to 10-30am Under 10s and 12s/ 10-30am to 12pm Under 14s and 16s.

The Girls' Centre of Excellence matches have been postponed. They were due to be at 10.30am at Okehampton this Saturday against Dorset. The matches will be re-scheduled for next April.

The Teams at the Centre have completed another fixture: this time against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday 17th October at Callington.

The Under-16s can still hold their heads high with a draw and so far no losses this season!

The Under-14s' coach was delighted with the performance of all girls and with more luck, the game could have been very different especially with a complete squad.

Coach Barry Rowe was very pleased with the Under 12s who worked really hard as a team and certainly were not overawed by Argyle -  with the new players fitting in really well showing that the team is getting stronger with every fixture.

The girls are making the long journey to Somerset for the regional festival on Saturday 24th October and looking forward to the day with several fixtures against other centres.

            ------------------------------------

The Teams played Wiltshire on Saturday 26th September. All teams played very well especially the youngest group who showed huge potential scoring goals, passing and moving on and off the ball. The under 16's battled hard finishing on a draw.

All trials are now completed so the centre is looking forward to buckling down to some real hard work!

All girls should now have their online log books up and running and completing them on a regular basis.

The Girls Centre of Excellence has begun its 2008-2009 programme. Tony Roberts is the new Centre Director. There have been several new coaches engaged to work within the programme at all age groups, who will receive comprehensive mentoring and guidance.

We will work very closely with the Counties Girls clubs to ensure that relationships and more importantly the girls development is paramount.

The talent identification methods can be more pro-active by encouraging good club coaches to identify girls of the right standard to be recommended to the centre.

We are aware of the fantastic development work delivered within our club environment and need to work hand in hand with them to offer the Girls the best possible opportunities.
