What We Are Doing/Football Workforce Awards 2007-08/Coaching Opportunities

Our Football Development Aims and Objectives are set out in the Development Plan 2007 and other documents which are available on the right.

Working Groups for specific areas of football development work have been or are being formed for the following topics:

Disability Football
FA Charter Standard Schools and Clubs
Coach Learning and Development
Facilities and Investment
Development Forum
Cornwall Schools FA
Community Coaching Schemes

These Working Groups can co-opt and recruit members from interested organisations and specialists as appropriate to the development of the game and the needs of the group. There is a document available in the right. If you are interested in becoming a member of one of the groups, then please e-mail andy.mitchell@cornwallfa.com for more information.

The Development department also organises and delivers coach education courses (see Courses page) and assists with the overall development of the game in the County.

Football Workforce Awards 2007-08

As the season draws to a close it’s time to think about how we can say ‘thank you’ to all the volunteers who keep football going every week, up and down the country.

County FAs will be able to present 5 County Awards. Each County FA has been invited to nominate one person to the FA. From these nominations the FA will choose 7 people to receive National Football Workforce Awards for their contribution to football during the 2007-08 season.

In addition, Cornwall FA can chose 1 Young winner and nominate this person to The FA who in turn will chose 3 Young Volunteers to attend The FA Community Shield.

Coaching Opportunities
Cornwall FA is seeking coaches who would like the opportunity to participate in various coaching activities in and around the County.

Initiatives include:

• Schools
• Clubs
• Holiday Courses

The positions are part-time. Expenses will be covered.
